What better way to start this blog with a win.
We were to our village for Sankranthi and we won a cricket tourney during this time.
It was a tourney which had more than 25 teams participating in it and it was a knock out format. One loss and the team is out of the tournament. We won this tourney.
We had 4 matches before our final and we won all of them comfortably. The final was well fought but we emerged winners.The way we played all the matches was spectacular. Almost all the matches we played were one-sided which tells how well we played.Though the whole team played as a unit, there are 3 players who need special mention.
1. Sreedhar: He is the captain of our team. His captaincy was top-notch. He scored lots of runs as an opener. He also opens our bowling attack and he was instrumental in keeping the opposition restricted to very less runs in the initial overs.
2. Chiranjeevi: He was the other opener of our team and he was perfect in the role. In all the matches he opened he gave us a great start which was so crucial for us in winning those matches.His reverse sweep of fast bowlers was spectacular.
3. Karunakar: He was rightly adjudged 'Man of the Series'. He bowled with raw pace and perfect line and length.His bowling was completely unplayable and we were happy that we were not in his opposite him. 6 runs per over is very common in such tourneys but Karunkar's economy rate was always below 2. In the semi final and the final he bowled 8 overs giving away 10 runs and picking up 8 wickets. His batting was another asset.He scored runs at crucial times which helped the team a great deal.
We enjoyed playing this tourney so much. Catching an auto daily, going to the village where the tourney was held, walking through the fields to reach the ground, drinking water from the motor pumps...all these experiences were so amazing.
When Sridhar lifted the winners trophy it was such a proud moment for us. We won the inaugural tourney which was more than 10 years back and now we won it again.
The celebrations after the win were spectacular. When we returned to our village there was band baaja waiting for us. We went through all the gullies of our village dancing to the beats.
We will cherish this win for years to come.

And we chased this total in the 16th over and emerged winners.
